Additional Services
Prepared for wherever
life takes you and your pet.
Some things just need a little extra time, thought and care. Whether your pet needs a bit of time to get comfortable at our clinic, you’re planning a move abroad, or simply making sure your pet is protected if they ever slip out the gate, these services are here for exactly those moments.
Happy Visits
A Happy Visit is a quick stop at the clinic designed to create positive associations with veterinary care. Drop in during a walk or whenever you're in the neighbourhood, and we'll shower your pet with treats, praise, and affection.
These simple visits help build confidence and teach your pet that coming to the clinic can be a fun and rewarding experience.
Don't be surprised if your pet starts pulling you toward the clinic for a visit, like our friend Sparky, who never wants to miss an opportunity to stop by for treats, cuddles and a photo op!
Victory Visits | 180.00 | Six 30-Minute Visits
What is a Victory Visit?
Victory Visits are designed for anxious, fearful, or nervous pets who need extra time and support to build confidence in the veterinary setting. Through a series of six personalized visits (30 mins each), we work gradually to help your pet develop positive associations with the clinic and become more comfortable with veterinary care.
How Does It Work?
Every Victory Visit begins with building trust. We focus on creating a positive experience through treats, praise, play, and gentle interactions, allowing your pet to become comfortable with our team at their own pace. There is never any pressure to move faster than your pet is ready for.
As your pet gains confidence, we gradually introduce new aspects of a veterinary visit. This may include positive introductions to equipment such as a stethoscope, gentle handling exercises, paw and ear touches, stepping onto a scale, or learning to comfortably tolerate restraint and examination. Each step is carefully tailored to your pet's individual needs and comfort level.
Our goal is not simply to complete a veterinary exam, it is to help your pet leave each visit feeling successful, safe, and more confident than when they arrived. By creating positive experiences and building trust over time, we can help reduce fear and stress, making future veterinary visits easier and more comfortable for both you and your pet.
Pre-Visit Medication Assessment
Every pet progresses at their own pace, and some may benefit from additional support along the way. When appropriate, our veterinarians may recommend pre-visit calming medications to help reduce anxiety and create a more positive learning experience. By combining behavioural training, positive reinforcement, and medical support when needed, we can help your pet feel more comfortable and confident during veterinary visits.
Every small step is a victory, and together we'll celebrate each one along the way.
Microchip Implantation and Identification
Losing a pet is one of the most distressing experiences a family can go through. Microchipping is one of the simplest and most effective things you can do to make sure your pet finds their way home if they ever go missing, and it takes just moments to do.
What is a Microchip?
A microchip is a tiny, rice-sized capsule containing a unique identification number linked to your contact details in a secure database. Unlike a collar or tag, which can be lost or removed, a microchip provides permanent, tamper-proof identification for the lifetime of your pet.
How Does It Work?
Implantation is a quick, simple, and minimally invasive procedure — very similar to a routine vaccination. The microchip is gently inserted under the skin between the shoulder blades using a sterile needle, and most pets tolerate it with ease. No anaesthesia is required, though implantation is often performed at the time of desexing for added convenience and comfort.
Why Does It Matter?
The difference a microchip can make is significant. Microchipped pets are reunited with their families at dramatically higher rates than those without one. Studies suggests approximately 85–90% of microchipped pets are returned home, compared to only 20–30% of those without a chip.
Is Registration Included?
Absolutely! After implantation, we'll make sure your pet's microchip is correctly registered and your contact details are up to date in the database, because a microchip is only as effective as the information attached to it.
We're also happy to check or update an existing microchip registration at any time.
International Health Exams and Export Certificates
Relocating or travelling internationally with your pet is an exciting milestone, and it can also come with a lot of moving parts. Export requirements vary significantly between countries, and the timelines involved can be surprisingly complex.
We’re here to guide you through the process with expertise and care, so you and your pet can travel with confidence.
How Can We Help?
We assist with all aspects of international pet travel preparation, including:
Understanding and navigating the import requirements of your destination country
Performing required vaccinations, titre testing, and parasite prevention treatments
Conducting official international health examinations
Preparing veterinary documentation in accordance with destination country regulations
Facilitating the preparation of export documents and certificates
Travel day guidance, including prescription of anti-anxiety medications when appropriate
Our goal is to make the process as clear and manageable as possible for both you and your pet.
What Are The Owner’s Responsibilities?
While our team will guide and support you every step of the way, it's important to know that meeting all requirements and timelines is ultimately the owner's responsibility. International pet travel involves carefully coordinated steps, including scheduling time-sensitive appointments for vaccinations, titre testing, and health exams, coordinating CFIA export appointments, and ensuring full compliance with your destination country's specific requirements.
Missing a deadline or appointment can result in significant delays, or your pet being unable to travel as planned. We strongly encourage you to begin planning as early as possible, and our team is always happy to walk you through what's needed and when.
